Event Details

The Beijing Women's Network holds Monthly Spotlight Dinners to bring our membership together and share professional and personal experiences. Each dinner we spotlight one of our members, who then leads a discussion centered around their own experiences or a topic of choice.

Kristen Carusos has made Beijing her home for the last four years after making her first appearance in the capital in 2010 for a study abroad trip and studying Chinese for a semester at Beijing Language and Culture University. Since moving back to Beijing, she has worn many different hats spanning from teaching AVIC employee current affairs, hosting a bi-lingual radio show, working at an outdoor advertising company, running events and social media campaigns for Sinology Institute, and serving as the International Business Development Manager for EventBank. She has played a dynamic role in the Beijing expat community through her involvement in stand-up comedy, co-ed American football and many more activities, as has also taken up a leadership role in the Beijing Women's Network. She has spent the last year running the Professional Development series with Samantha Kwok and has helped grow the organization's membership to over 1,000 members.

Kristen will share her experience navigating Beijing as a young professional woman and how she overcame several professional and personal obstacles. She will also discuss her experiences building a network in Beijing and best practices for getting the most out of your Beijing experience. This is Kristen's last Beijing Women's Network event before moving to Hong Kong in December as Market Development Manager.
