Leading the Shanghai studio's Civic & Cultural practice, Chao oversees some of the practice's most significant projects; the Shenzhen Energy Ring, the world's largest waste to energy power plant, Green Heart Opera House project in Tongzhou, Beijing, and the West Bund Grand Theatre.


Working out of studios located in Copenhagen and Shanghai, Schmidt Hammer Lassen provides skilled architectural services all over the world, with a distinguished track record as designers of international high-profile architecture. They are deeply committed to the Nordic architectural traditions based on democracy, welfare, aesthetics, light, sustainability and social responsibility.


Schmidt Hammer Lassen's globally well-known projects include:

Dokk 1 in Denmark; The Royal Danish Library; Malmö Live in Sweden; the Renovation of State Library Victoria in Australia, and Christchurch New Central Library in New Zealand.

Gaspard, a French engineer in China for 10 years, has always been triggered by environmental issues and has been looking for technical solutions to create a more sustainable society. As Director of Business Development, he is committed to lead TERAO's mission, which is helping mitigate climate change through its expertise in the building sector. Through a focus on carbon emissions calculation and reduction, energy efficiency, renewable energy, bioclimatic design, building health and comfort enhancement, and related certification services. Gaspard holds a Double Master's Degree of Science from Shanghai Jiaotong University and Arts et Metiers Paristech in France.
