In today's business landscape, regulatory frameworks are increasingly emphasizing the importance of transparency, responsible business conduct, and sustainability. The EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDD) and Reporting (CSR) Directives have been at the forefront of driving these principles within the European Union. These directives require companies to conduct due diligence on their supply chains, assess and mitigate environmental and social risks, and disclose relevant information in their annual reports. They serve as a foundation for promoting sustainable development, responsible business practices, and supply chain transparency.

At the same time, conducting research in the context of international regulations can be complex, particularly when navigating compliance with laws such as the National Security Law (NSL) and the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) . The NSL in China focuses on national security concerns, while the PIPL aims to protect personal information and data privacy. Balancing the requirements of these laws with the need for thorough research presents unique challenges for organizations operating within China or conducting business activities involving Chinese entities and individuals.

Organised by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China, together with PSU China we are pleased to invite you to an insightful event that will delve into the topic of supply chain transparency and due diligence in China, while also addressing the challenges of maintaining compliance with the the NSL and the PIPL.

With the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDD) and Reporting (CSR) Directives as our foundation, this event aims to foster a deeper understanding of the challenges, best practices, and potential solutions related to researching entities and individuals in China.
