The newly added Article 45 of the amended PRC Copyright Law that came into effect in June 2021 grants phonogram producers the remuneration right to receive remuneration for the public communication and broadcasting of phonograms ("Mechanical Performance Right"). There are still many issues that remain to be discussed in the practical implementation of the Mechanical Performance Right, including but not limited to:
