This webinar is a part of the Greener Together: China-Nordic Dialogue on Carbon Neutrality campaign organized in collaboration with FinnCham, DCCC and the Norwegian Business Association.

For many businesses, the main hurdles lie in acquiring reliable and traceable data pertaining to their carbon emission activities. Traditional methods often fall short, making it a challenge, if not an impossibility, to obtain first-hand data for accurate calculation and thorough analysis. This is where digital solutions shine, offering a lifeline to enterprises that aim to streamline and automate these processes.

During the seminar we will introduce the concept of Environmentally Extended Input-Output (EEIO). EEIO serving as an authoritative methodology to estimate and analyze emissions with heightened efficiency. By leveraging this approach, businesses can avoid the complications often associated with conventional carbon accounting standards.

We will delve deep into how new technology can help businesses to harness data for real-time identification of energy-saving opportunities and how to equip and empower your enterprise to make more informed, sustainable, and financially sound decisions regarding carbon management.

This seminar is designed as a hybrid event, accommodating both in-person and virtual attendees. Those attending in person will have an additional 30 minutes for a deeper dive into the topic.

About Greener Together: China-Nordic Dialogue on Carbon Neutrality webinar series

This series is organised in collaboration with the Norwegian Business Association and FinnCham Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong, it is supported by the Danish Chinese Business Forum in Denmark.

Over the recent years, reducing carbon emissions has become the main sustainability issue (both for governments and for companies), globally and in China.

China has set ambitious targets with peak carbon emissions in 2030 and carbon neutrality in 2060. These targets will have large impact on companies, some of these impacts may be:

• New regulations, such as carbon pricing & demands for energy efficiency in new builds.
• Shifting customer demands that focus on global commitments to emission reduction.
• Reporting on supply chain emissions due to EU regulations.
• Potential market opportunities for emission reducing technologies.
• Young talents may increasingly wish to work on sustainability related issues, or within companies with good sustainability profile

The goal of the webinar series is to share the ongoing initiatives and policy changes in China that address reducing carbon emissions, creating circular economies and the production of green energy.
