You're standing in the middle of Beijing's most famous city park next to your friends and a hundred other cheering and smiling people as you watch a balloon with a camera lift off into the sky and make history.
You're wondering why? For charity of course. You'll be raising awareness by working together with friends and strangers to make the largest human banner Beijing has ever seen. It'll all be to bring art education to the children of Zuunkharaa, Mongolia.
We invite you to help us create our 150 Alice project logo in giant letters that will be captured by drone along with the amazing skyline of Beijing and its Chaoyang Park. Which will inspire hundred if not thousands of people to contribute to our project.
We're bringing art education to Mongolia by raising money through selling a special 150th anniversary edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland which was created by 150 artists from 42 countries around the world. Making this one of the most collaborated books in the world. That money will be used, with the help of Independent Research Institute of Mongolia and Mrs. Dash from the Mongolian Embassy to China, to create a curriculum and get supplies to start classes ASAP.
Notice:
Original plans to have the event in Olympic Park were canceled due to having a permit denied. While, we still have no permit we believe the city park of Chaoyang to be a suitable and noncontroversial location. From here we can have the lush green vegetation of the park and a beautiful view of the East skyline of the city we all know and love.
150Alice is a project celebrating the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with the goal to bring art education to children in rural Mongolia. We brought together 150 brilliant artists from 42 countries to promote their artwork in a unique way and give them an opportunity to create a masterpiece together.
Our version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a fully illustrated 300-page hardcover book, made up of 150 pages of text and 150 vibrant illustrations accompanying each page. We restyled the original text into 150 segments, and sent each piece to an artist to imagine that piece in their own way.
The result is a unique edition showcasing varied art styles from all over the world. It is also a chance for the artists to showcase their own skills, and most importantly, a chance for us, the artists,
and you, to give back to society through art.
Each book measures 28x28x3.5cm, weighs a hefty 3kg, and is sure to add colour to your living room, and life to your coffee table. By purchasing a book, you will also help us bring art education to children in rural Mongolia.
Bring art education to children and get hold of this amazing book here!Bringing Art Education to Children in Mongolia
Our end goal is to build an art school in Mongolia, a place where children can go to learn, experiment and play with their imagination. For a start, we are working with the Independent Research Institute of Mongolia (IRIM) to conduct regular art classes at Secondary School Number 3 in Zuunkharaa Soum, Selenge, Mongolia.
These art classes, while held in the school, are also open to children in the neighbourhood. At class, children will learn various forms of art, from basic drawing and painting, to traditional Mongolian wood sculpturing. Through this, we hope to encourage them to find new opportunities for themselves, and add colour to their lives and communities.
All proceeds from the sale of the book and its related products will be used towards educating children in Mongolia about art and creativity. We are working with Mrs. Dash Oyunchimeg, the spouse of the Ambassador from Mongolia to China, to find partners in Mongolia who can help us make this dream a reality.
Help make this project a reality here!
