This Hybrid event will take place on online via Zoom meeting platform and offline at Puli Hotel in Shanghai. It will be a bilingual event, with simultaneous translation in both English and Chinese during the entire event.

Choosing sustainable materials for a product has clear environmental and financial benefits – it can help reduce the product's carbon footprint and energy consumption, extend its lifecycle and at the same time lower production costs. It also increases the possibilities of recycling or reusing the product, creating circular flows of resources. Many companies are aiming to replace parts of their products with more sustainable materials. This requires decisions to be taken already at the design phase of the product, assessing its carbon footprint, how it can be recycled in the market and how the product can be reused or repurposed.

This event invites companies and sustainability experts to discuss the decisions that companies need to make as well as the opportunities and challenges for use and reuse of sustainable materials in the Chinese market context. We have invited both Chinese and Swedish speakers from the companies H&M, Envac, Oatly, Alleima, Alibaba Cloud and IVL. The purpose is to track policy trends and corporate practices in order to learn what can be done by businesses as the next step.

The event will be co-hosted by SwedCham China and the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing.

This is a Members-only event, free for Members.
