Supply Chain Roundtable: Best Practices in Green Supply Chains
Thursday, 10 June 2021, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
In its fourteenth five-year plan, the Chinese government put carbon emission control on top of the agenda and has set the target to achieve peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and to become carbon neutral by 2060. The European Union has set its own schedule to the road to carbon neutrality - it aims to become carbon neutral by 2050 and plans to reduce carbon emissions by 55 percent by 2030.
For companies of most industries, this means that they will have to transform their business and adjust to the schedule and to the roadmap lying ahead in order accelerate their transitions towards carbon neutrality. Supply chains play in this context a crucial role. Managing the carbon footprint of products across the supply chain is the next step for businesses to take in the effort to reduce their carbon footprint and mitigate climate change.
In this roundtable, we invite companies to discuss and share best practices of sustainable supply chains, green optimization and carbon neutrality in different business environments. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss with peers, exchange over new aspects of green supply chain management and strengthen their network with members of the Sino-German business community.
