Chinese Corporate Ratings and the Evolving Corporate Social Credit System
– Best Practices and What to Further Expect
Tuesday, 19 January 2021, 6:00 PM
Ratings have been a steady companion for enterprises in China for many years already. For authorities in China, ratings are a convenient method to "know the customer" and sanction corporate behavior. Since 2014, the Chinese government is working toward integrating the different ratings into a common system, increasing transparency but also allowing authorities to take a more stringent approach toward companies with potential inadequate behavior. Many multinational companies wonder where China stands with that system, what to expect and how to manage the implications.
In this seminar, our speakers will share an overview of China's current corporate rating system, recent developments, and how to best integrate them into the compliance process. They will provide tangible insights on how ratings work in tax and customs authorities and how multinational companies can use this mechanism to better manage compliance and process efficiency.
