Event Summary

Ethics in business is an ever-increasing issue in the world today. Some view the role of the private sector in creating a better society as laudable and mandatory while others see the quest for profit as the only bottom line.

What are the boundaries of business and social issues? Do businesses hurt social well-being? Do resolutions to social issues hurt business interests?

Join us this Friday, November 16, as we invite SEED fellow Abigail Zhang, Marketing director and partner of Maker Sustainability Consulting (MSC), to discuss her personal journey on how to achieve win-win relationships between social challenges and business development with updated case studies from WeChat, Dtro, and Cotton-On.

SEED is the only overseas-based social venture accelerator for Chinese innovators and was run on a voluntary basis until last year. All together, over 400 Chinese volunteers have joined the community and demonstrate Social Responsibility, Empathy, Empowerment and Dedication (SEED) through concrete action.

Fresh Start Rotary Club of Shanghai is a member club of a global network of 1.2 million who envision a world where people unite to create lasting change. We support social enterprise and help empower entrepreneurs with a social purpose.

We warmly welcome all to attend, listen, and ask questions.
