Running through the woods, kayaking down a river, and growing your own plants is a more entertaining way to learn than by just reading about the subjects. This experiential education and contact with nature is what this week's speaker believes to be invaluable.
Fresh Start welcomes you to join us this Friday, September 7, as we invite Joan Elizalde, founder and general manager of Green Steps, to discuss his educational company's goal to connect people with nature. He will express both why and how the company created its vision as well as the core activities of the company.
Joan has created Green Steps in order to provide experiential outdoor education for families, schools, and companies. It helps them find balance between city and rural life through experiences that connect people with nature, while developing individuals' potential and respect for the environment.
Based in Shanghai and created in 2018, Green Steps offers a holistic approach to education and life in small communities that integrates sustainably with the local ecosystem of the Chinese countryside.
Fresh Start warmly welcomes all to attend, listen, and ask questions.
The following week, September 14, we will have Cecile Cavoizy of Shanghai Young Bakers give a talk entitled "Empowering Marginalised Populations through Bakery: from 32 to 3000."
