WeChat has started as a messaging app, but evolved quickly to an app for almost everything. It is now the first app people open in the morning and the last one they close. There are millions of businesses on WeChat trying to connect to their customers or targeted audiences. Many of the companies and organizations focus mainly on providing standard information of their products/services, but information alone are receiving less and less attention from users.
In this joint-workshop we will tap into the WeChat ecosystem and see how especially B2B companies can create additional value to their users by designing and developing solutions and mini programs on top of the WeChat platform. We will see and discuss what type of information are available using the WeChat API and WeChat payment API, e.g. accessing user data, allowing user to make payments, accessing real-time location, scanning EAN bar codes, etc.
We will learn how the WeChat platform works in general and understand what it can provide for companies and organizations. We will make a quick journey into the security aspect of a WeChat application. In the second half of the workshop the speaker will point to real use cases in the B2B sector and show why these solutions create an additional value for B2B users.
