Event Summary

Social Innovation in China has been on a rise. With a dire need for talent, many young local social entrepreneurs-to-be have yet to find their way to the right path.

Zheng Wu, while studying as a Ph.D. candidate at Harvard University, felt overwhelmed by the vigor and dynamism of the outside world's desire to change the world, and was keen to bring Chinese youth from his hometown to Harvard to witness it for themselves. These youths shared a similar passion, determination and sense of responsibility with their western peers, and were invited in order to gain better exposure to social entrepreneurship education with vision, innovation and globalization.

From a humble start in a classroom in Cambridge seven years ago to one of last year's "30 under 30" Forbes Changemakers, SEED has nurtured over 300 SEEDers. These are innovators from all social sectors who have aspired to sharpen their social innovation mindsets. The flagship program, SEED Summer Camp, has witnessed over 400 passionate volunteers in the community live and demonstrate Social Responsibility, Empathy, Empowerment and Dedication (SEED) through concrete action.

Come to Fresh Rotary this Friday, July 6, to hear Zheng Wu discuss the exciting stories of SEED, and the SEEDers that are planting seeds of innovation for a better China.

We warmly welcome all to attend, listen, and ask questions.
