Join our first Beijing Women's Network Healthy Living Series event of 2018!
To begin us on our quest for bettering ourselves this new year, we've brought together the Mind, Body Project and Live with Less to help us reflect on small actions we can do, or stop doing, that will have positive effects on our mind and body as well as other people and the planet around us.
This lively panel discussion will be followed by an open Q&A to help answer any remaining questions before we all make one small commitment that we will carry with us into the new year.
This event is coordinated by the Beijing Women's Network Healthy Living Series (HLS). HLS is focused on providing monthly events that bring a mixture of sport/fitness workshops, lifestyle social events, formal panel discussions and health education seminars with a focus on information relevant to women's mental and physical wellbeing.
The venue has been generously donated by Crossboundaries. All ticket proceeds from this event will be donated towards our partner local charity.
Checkin when you arrive and then you are free to find a seat and mingle with the other guests.
19:30 - 19:45Event & Speaker Introduction
The Mind Body Project (TMBP) offers mindful fitness programs for REAL people in the U.S. and China. We facilitate 8-week mind body programs, day recharges and workshops to decrease stress, enhance focus and build resiliency. In Beijing, TMBP also runs weekly community yoga classes.

Live With Less started with a familiar story, a friend of Crossboundaries was moving home and all her stuff. The friend asked if she could use our office space to hold a take away of things she no longer needed. Before we knew it we had some new treasures, made new friends, and a van load of stuff left over. This idea instigated a conversation with The Mind Body Project around our shared values, kick-starting the challenge of Live With Less to engage across communities and reduce excessive consumption through sharing economies, all in view of happier lives.
It's about reducing excessive consumption. It's about community. It's about the possibility in using social capital to create a sharing economy.

The panelists will be asked a series of questions related to the theme of the event.
20:20 - 21:00Open Q&A and Personal Impact Goal
We will open the end of the panel to answer questions from our guests.
The final part of the evening will be everyone setting a personal commitment that will contribute to making a small, positive impact.

Spotlight Community Partners
The Beijing Women's Network Healthy Living Series is proud to highlight local companies, groups, and initiatives who help make our lives, healthier and happier. Our HLS talks aim to bring together the health and fitness community around important topics.
BWN Partner Charity
Beijing Women's Network is not only committed to facilitating professional development and community engagement for women, but is also dedicated to giving back and working to help women who have access to fewer resources and opportunities.
For the 2017 fiscal year, Beijing Women's Network partnered with the Beijing Cultural Development Center for Rural Women (农家女中心). The BCDCRW is a non-governmental organization aimed at promoting the development of rural women in China. Through advocating awareness of gender issues in society, establishing women's groups, and using participatory work practices, they aim to change the destiny of hundreds of women in rural China.
We work with a different charity partner each fiscal year and will donate the majority of all proceeds to them to help support women's health, education, and other needs.
