Oma Lee founded the Beijing Women’s Network in 2015 and has organized the Network’s spotlight dinners for the last two and half years. Oma has hosted more than 40 community dinners, bringing together hundreds of women from different backgrounds to connect, learn, and grow. Outside of BWN, Oma is a policy expert in Chinese philanthropy and social business. She served as a senior analyst at the China Philanthropy Research Institute (CPRI), one of China’s foremost think tanks focused on philanthropy and charity. At CPRI Oma assisted policy formulation and implementation around China’s charity and Foreign NGO regulations. Oma was born and raised in Hong Kong where she received her LLB at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Oma will share her journey in China – from landing in Beijing as a fresh-faced college graduate to becoming an advocate for social issues and leveraging the magic that is Beijing to build lasting communities of change.
Please note that the Spotlight Dinners are female-only events. All other Beijing Women's Network events are open to all people, regardless of gender. Spotlight Dinners are free of charge but participants will be expected to split the cost of the food after the dinner.
