In a world of smartphones and social media, too often we’re encouraged to solely broadcast our greatest hits – both online and offline. This phenomenon can make us feel jealous, inadequate, and lonely, as if we can’t relate to others (and vice versa). Bare is an opportunity to dig deeper, by sharing and listening to the behind-the-scenes we rarely have a chance to express.
At Bare, you’ll hear a community leader speaker “bare it all”, in an intimate setting with a small group of participants. Bare speakers won’t discuss professional or industry insights, but instead share the emotional and personal sides of themselves. After answering initial questions from a moderator, speakers will join participants in an informal discussion, allowing all who feel comfortable to be “bare”.
Ultimately, Bare aims to connect people and remind us that we’re not alone. Through sharing and listening to our behind-the-scenes, we can increase our empathy, compassion, and resilience. We hope Bare will be the first step in fostering a broader culture of strength through vulnerability.
