In this workshop, speakers from corporates and social organisations will share meaningful projects to empower people and prevent marginalization.
China is now in a complex transformation period in a fast-changing society. It is bringing greater challenges to marginal groups (e.g. the disabled, terminal patients, and children in poor areas). By empowering them with rights and capabilities they will get supported and cross over barriers. How can companies engage in the empowerment process? How can they cooperate with NGOs to achieve a win-win outcome?... These are the topics of the workshop.
Marina Kalnitski is going to share about the case of Taicang Inclusion Factory - an inspiring model project for employing people with disabilities. Qiu Shuimiao will talk about her experiences in promoting reading habits in rural China through empowering teachers. Wang Ying, the co-founder of the first non-profit organization for hospice care in Shanghai, will share about how she helps terminal patients to deal with life and death. From the perspective of enterprises, Caroline Vanquette of Henkel will talk about their successful experience in promoting social engagement of employees and corporate inclusion projects.
