Originally from America (Omaha, NE to be specific), I've been based in Beijing for the past six years and work at the intersection of healthcare technologies and finance. Originally worked in basic and clinical research until I realized I enjoyed talking with people. This led to a four year journey that taught me how to network with a purpose and enjoy it as you go.
From meeting my oldest friend in China through a musician friend of mine to taking dozens of weekly inbound inquiries from MDs of large VC funds because of my appearance at a poker tournament to meeting a Nobel Prize shortlisted scientist due to a friend’s interest in Stoic philosophy, I have found this process to be one great learning experience. And if I can do it, then anyone can!

Shaper Trainings come out of a desire in our community to learn the best skills each of our fellow Shapers has to offer. Trainings are a bi-monthly event where outstanding members of our WEF Global Shapers community share specific skills or tactics they’ve acquired to help them reach their current level of success.

The Global Shapers Community is an initiative of the World Economic Forum and constitutes a network of city-based Hubs developed and led by young leaders between 20 and 30 years old who want to develop their leadership potential towards serving society. Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society. They are selected on the basis of their achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to make a difference.
