The German Chamber in China and CanadAsia Management Development will facilitate this high-powered and insightful ½ day workshop. If you feel that you need better results to really impact the business with your learning and development programs, then spend a half day with us and benefit with real insight, tips and techniques on how to maximize the return on investment from your training programs. Join us and you will discover how to include learning goals in performance management and how to begin developing the culture of a learning organization that fits your company.

Topic 1: Linking Core Competencies to Job Design
We will introduce ideas about integrated “competency-based” talent management systems that will help you with designing accurate job descriptions that attract the right talent, and correctly identify the key tasks and core functions. We will also give advice on how to include elements of the position descriptions that can also be used for performance measurement targets and learning KPIs.

Topic 2: Identifying & Prioritizing Learning Needs
Next we will help you to understand the most common and practical methods for identifying and prioritizing training and development needs. From surveys to interviews, including multi-level and multi-method techniques for effectively and economically identifying and prioritizing training needs in a practical and systematic way that meets your requirements.

Topic 3: Developing Training Plans to Impact the Business
Finally, once you know how to identify, measure and prioritize the key skills and knowledge gaps, we will suggest how you can factor in the critical components of a successful training and development plan with elements such as budget, business cycles and timing, selecting training vendors and other key elements. You will also know more about job design that enhances learning, when to outsource training versus finding in-house solutions, how to take advantage of informal mentoring, when coaching is right and other tips for developing a training plan that aligns with business needs.
