The Beijing Women's Network and JingJobs present:
The Global Office- Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges

Let’s face it, we have all used the following buzzwords on our CVs and applications:"International Mindset - Cultural Awareness – Global Understanding". But what do these actually mean? Do you really deserve to add these to your name? Why are these concepts so important and in style?

You are most likely a young professional working in an international environment and have directly experienced the impact of increased connectivity and globalization. Businesses and organizations of every size and shape now have the potential to reach people all around the world, and our workplaces have never been more spread out or filled with a selection of more diverse people.

Despite the wide range of benefits and new opportunities globalization provides, it also presents us with many challenges. As employees in China, you might find it hard to adjust to the concept of 差不多; fear your feedback style may be perceived as too confrontational; or struggle to feel part of a team that is spread across four continents. Chinese nationals working for foreign companies in China might equally struggle with the language usage, foreign management structure, or meeting styles.

In order to minimize the challenges and maximize the benefits of globalization, communication is key. Come and listen to our three communications specialists who share their insights on practical ways to bridge the divides and take down the barriers to success in the international workplace.

Every month, the Beijing Women’s Network and JingJobs bring together experts from diverse backgrounds to empower young and mid-range professionals to build upon their professional skills and networks. If you are not yet a member of the Beijing Women’s Network on WeChat, please add wechat: samanthajingjobs and ask to be added into the groups.
