SOUND SMART ON THE SPOT

Lilian Rogers is a Policy Manager at the U.S. Information Technology Office (USITO). She has previously held positions at the American Chamber of Commerce in China, and the public affairs firm APCO Worldwide. She was formerly the president of the AmCham China Toastmasters Club and currently serves as a Toastmasters Area Director.
MESSAGE FROM LILIAN:
The goal of this workshop is to improve impromptu speaking skills. I will strive to actually move the needle on this in 90 minutes, i.e. you will leave the training being able to speak more confidently off the cuff than when you came in. We will cover how to structure your thoughts, effective delivery, and common obstacles to communication (including overcoming nerves).
The workshop will be interactive, and everyone will be expected to deliver unprepared speeches on a stage. Use cases include: fielding client Q&A, conversations with stakes (i.e. with your boss), brainstorming discussions, etc. This is good for people who have to defend key messages/or a brand, communicate complicated ideas ad-hoc, and generally have to sound smart on the spot.
Workshop will be conducted in English, but is suitable for non-native English speakers.
