In the frame of the ‘More than a Market’ initiative, catalyzing and supporting social engagement of German companies is a key objective. Many of our ‘More than a Market’ Forum participants have already experienced a short version of this very engaging lab that aims to provide support to companies and organizations who wish to start or improve a CSR project or social activity.

What is the Support Lab?

This Support Lab is an open format where organizations receive tailored support to their particular interest or need. In an interactive workshop using methodologies based on design thinking, participants are guided through the steps of generating ideas, developing concepts and/or prototyping a CSR project on the topic of their interest.

Who can participate?
German companies and Chinese society partners who either want to start a new project or innovate their existing projects.
This workshops can help you if you
  • want to engage with society
  • are looking for inspiration, strategies and models for social and CSR projects
  • lack partners from the business or society sector
  • run society engagement programs already, but want to innovate your models,
  • scale your impact
  • transform an idea into social business

Project topics can be chosen freely. To give you an idea of what people might be working on, topics could include: social issues •environment • health • innovative education • employee volunteerism • NGO engagement • sustainable value chains • sports • culture etc.
What can you expect to gain?
  • Applying Design Thinking for social engagement projects
  • Experiencing tools to transform projects
  • Getting in-depth support, coaching and advisory for your project ideas
  • Peer learning and matching with possible other companies and society partners
  • Developing concrete outcomes, depending on participants’ need: concept, model and/or plan for projects

Registration
  • The application deadline is September 8th. For latecomers: Please contact sieckmann.ines@sh.china.ahk.de.
  • Please note: In the registration form, you will be asked a topic or idea(s) you would like to work on. This field is for the moderators to get an idea of which topics/projects are on your mind.
  • We strongly encourage companies to send teams of 2 or more people in charge of the project. This increases the chance that the group work sessions will focus on your suggested topics.
  • Please note that this is a 2-day training, it is not possible to register for one day only.

Trainers & Facilitators
Professional facilitators and coaches from the SAP Labs China Design Thinking team with the support of staff from the German Chamber of Commerce | Shanghai, partner of the More Than a Market initiative, will faciliate the development of project ideas during this workshop.
