This structure responds to the changing market environment and organizational needs of our members. It will be paired with a fair increase of our price structure.
We invite you to join us at the Extraordinary General Meeting on September 28th in order to:- review the Chamber's activities of the last year
- showcase our current range of services, member benefits and plans for future development
- cast your vote on the new membership structure.
Background
Since 2004, we have been offering consistent and unchanged pricing to our members. Over the past 13 years, your membership fees have allowed us to expand our presence in the provinces and cater to the needs of the Sino-German community not only in Shanghai, but also especially in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong, including cities such as Taicang, Suzhou, Hangzhou, and Nanjing.
To provide you with relevant and useful resources that enable business decisions, we have developed and delivered market fact sheets, surveys about the labor market, the business climate, and the state of innovation in China, all exclusively and at your doorstep. Our magazine the German Chamber Ticker paired with conferences and workshops have kept our members informed and connected on best practices and business trends in China.
With your support, we have created the China-wide platform for social engagement: The More than a Market initiative. We have done a milestone number of events, with a variety of new event formats ranging from discussion rounds to trainings to keep you - our members - aware and engaged.
During our special event on 28th September, 2017, we want you to benefit from as many
meaningful conversations as possible. Therefore, you will have the opportunity from 2:30 pm until the end of the event to meet & talk directly with
key representatives of the AHK in Shanghai. We call it the “Open Day”. The German Chamber Board of Directors, AHK representatives and regional managers will be there for you.
We encourage you to join the meeting from 2:30 pm. The first 90 min of the event will focus on the Open Day; i.e. your one-on-one discussions with our AHK representatives. You may also join from 3:45 pm, for the Extraordinary General Meeting of the German Chamber. Open Day discussions will continue during the coffee break and the time after the vote.
