In the early Spring, we celebrate Fastelavn,an old Danish tradition dating back to medieval times relating to the beginning of Lent. Nowadays, Lent is not widely practiced among Danes and Fastelavn has become a fun tradition for children.

Slå katten af tønden

For Fastelavn, children dress up as anything they fancy, and they hit a barrel filled with candy. They call "slå katten af tønden" (hit the cat out of the barrel) 'piñata style', to ward off evil spirits. Historically, a real black cat representing the evil spirits was put inside the barrel and the barrel was hit until it broke and the cat jumped out(not very hyggeligt!) Today, hitting the barrel is much more enjoyable with the person who hit the barrel open is crowned "kattekong" (king of cats) and the person who hits the last piece of wood off is the "kattedronning" (queen of cats)

Fastelavnsris

Another popular custom (especially among the children) is the Fastelavnsris, with which children flog their parents gently to wake them up on the morning of Fastelavns Sunday. Fastelavnsris are bunches of twigs from fruit or willow trees preferably with buds. Then decorated with feathers, egg-shells, frizzled crepe paper and even candy as well. They are placed in water and when the buds start to open, it signifies that spring is coming.

Fastelavnsboller

Traditionally, children would walk around their neighbourhoods for a trick or treat singing songs as well asking for money or special cream filled buns 'Fastelavnsboller'.

Fastelavn at FunFarmFam is a relaxed - not on schedule/free flow event - meaning you can arrive at your convenience and visit the activity stations hosted by instructors as many times as you like.

Key Event Details:

10:30am - 11:30am: Recommended time of arrival

Activity 1: Dress up, paint up and get ready. Children can come dressed up from home and do face paint/tattoos at the farm or decorate/paint big paper bags

Activity 2: Make 'Fastelavnsris'

Activity 3: Lunch - fresh seasonal farm style

Activity 4: Hit the Barrel - piñata style

Activity 5: Make 'Fastelavnsboller'. Make your own sweets by using buns from our favorite Danish bakery 'Spandauerhuset'

Activity 6 (3pm): Make candy floss and Danish bread on stick "Snorbrød" on open fire

And of course, PLAYPLAYPLAY on the ice rink, feeding the animals and venturing into the nature playground.

春天快到了，也迎来了我们庆祝Fastelavn（丹麦狂欢节）的日子。 这个丹麦传统节日起源于中世纪，代表着大斋期的开始。现如今大斋期在丹麦不再普及了，Fastelavn变成了孩子们娱乐的传统。

孩子们穿上各种独特的服装，击打装满糖果的木桶（皮纳塔），称之为"打桶里的猫"（Slå katten af tønden）--象征着驱赶厄运。在历史上，黑猫代表着邪恶， 把黑猫放进木桶里，人们轮流拿棍子敲桶，直到木桶裂开，黑猫跳出。现在不再做这么野蛮的事情了，而是演变成了把黑猫的图片贴在木桶上，然后在木桶里装满了糖果或者小食。人们更多的享受争夺"猫咪之王"和"猫咪皇后"的过程。轮流敲击木桶，把桶打裂的人是"猫咪之王"；然后继续打，把桶的最后一片木头打下来的人是"猫咪皇后"。

另一个习俗（特别是对于孩子们来说）类似于丹麦版的"鸡毛掸子"（Fastelavnsris）。在周日早上，孩子们用一束白桦枝条（Fastelavnsris）把父母叫醒。这种枝条一般由刚生出芽的果树或者柳树嫩枝捆绑上羽毛，蛋壳，彩纸，甚至是糖果等装饰品制成。然后把它放在水里，等待花苞慢慢绽放，长出绿叶，代表着春天到了！

传统意义上来说，孩子们会一边唱着"不给糖就捣蛋"（trick or treat），一边向邻居们索要零花钱或者糖果小零食，当然还有特别定制的奶油夹心圆面包（Fastelavnsboller）。

此次在FunFarmFam举办的狂欢活动是轻松的，自由的，您可以选择您方便的时间参加，并且可以多次进出活动场地。

活动细节：

上午10：30 - 11：30：建议到达时间

活动1：换装，打扮，准备工作。孩子们可以提前穿好准备的衣服，来农场只化妆或者设计"大纸袋"

活动2：制作枝条（Fastelavnsris）

活动3：午餐—应季特色菜单。

活动4：击打木桶环节（piñata）

活动5：制作自己喜欢的传统奶油小面包（Fastelavnsboller）

活动6：下午3点烤棉花糖和丹麦面包。

当然还会有冰上娱乐（滑冰，坐冰车…），给小动物喂食，在大自然里探险。

一位大人一位孩子含餐：650元

若活动同行增加一位儿童需另付300元/人含餐

若活动同行增加一位成人需另付150元/人含餐
