Meet Carsten Boyer Thøgersen, the former Consul General to Guangzhou and Shanghai

We all agree it has been a challenging time to be in China in the last three years, economically and politically. History has been known to repeat to some extent from time to time. If we zoom out and look at the relationship that Denmark and China have, we can see similar situations have happened in the past. From those past experiences we can draw conclusions to what is the real mechanism behind all that has happened in the last three years, and more importantly, what we can learn from it.

With China's new foreign policy, we are excited and honored to invite Carsten Boyer Thøgersen, the former Consul General of Denmark to Guangzhou and Shanghai to host an exclusive event, sharing his thoughts from a macro view about China with his extensive expertise in the political and business field in China. About the speaker:

Carsten Boyer Thøgersen has worked with Chinese affairs for 50 years from positions with Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, European Commission, private enterprises, and Danish universities. Posted in China for 20 years.

Former Consul-General of Denmark in Guangzhou and Shanghai, Head of the commercial and economic department, Embassy of Denmark in Beijing, Expert in the China Office of the European Commission in Brussels, Principal Project Coordinator at the Delegation of the European Commission in Beijing.

From 1997 to 2011, Thøgersen was member of Board of Directors in Danish Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, Danish Chamber of Commerce in Guangzhou, Danish Business Association in Hong Kong, Danish Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, Danish-Chinese Business Forum, Copenhagen and Denmark-Hong Kong Trade Association, Copenhagen.

Thøgersen is M.A. in political science and B.A. in Chinese language and culture from Aarhus University. Studies at Beijing Language Institute, China.

Presently, Carsten Boyer Thøgersen is member of the Executive Council of the International Confucian Association, Beijing; Member of the Executive Council of World Conference on Sinology, Renmin University of China; Member of World Congress of Sinology at Beijing Language and Culture University.

嘉宾介绍：

卡斯滕·博耶尔·托格森（中文名：曹伯义）先生从事与中国相关工作至今已有50年了，其中包括丹麦外交部、欧盟委员会、私营企业以及丹麦大学。曾任丹麦驻广州和上海总领事、丹麦驻中国大使馆经济贸易处参赞、欧盟委员会驻布鲁塞尔中国办公室专家、欧盟委员会驻北京代表团首席项目协调员。自1997年至2011年期间，曹伯义分别是北京丹麦商会、广州丹麦商会、香港丹麦商业协会、上海丹麦商会、丹中商业论坛以及丹麦香港贸易协会的董事会成员。在丹麦奥胡斯大学获得政治学文学硕士以及汉语言文化文学学士，曾就读于北京语言大学。目前，曹伯义是北京国际儒学联合会、中国人民大学世界汉学大会理事会、以及北京语言大学世界汉学家理事会成员。
