On May 19th, members of the Keystone community convened under the schools’ archway in celebration of the first graduating class commencement ceremony. 5月19日，鼎石首届毕业典礼成功举办。鼎石社区全体成员相聚在学校中庭，共同庆贺鼎石首届毕业生开启人生又一新的阶段。 |

On May 19th, Keystone’s first graduating class participated in a beautiful commencement ceremony beneath the archway of the school. The ceremony consisted of special performances by Keystone student musicians and speakers including Acting Head of School and Dean of Faculty Mr. David Beare, Head of High School Dr. Diana Martelly, commencement speaker and Head of Westlake University Dr. Shi Yigong, Grade Level leader Ms. Audrey Moh, and Grade 12 student Jacky Liang. Jacky's final words to his peers were of the powerful binding agents of friendship, everlasting community, and blissful hope for the future. 5月19日，鼎石首届毕业典礼在学校中庭成功举办。高中部校长Diana Martelly主持了当日的典礼。代理校长兼教员主任David Beare、客座嘉宾——西湖大学校长施一公，12年级年级组长Audrey Moh老师，以及12年级学生代表梁小龙分别进行了演讲。典礼中，鼎石学生也带来了精彩的音乐表演。学生代表梁小龙表示，友谊将同学们紧紧相连，将鼎石大家庭永恒凝聚在一起，并表达了对未来美好的期望。同时，他也向协助组织此次仪式及出席的所有鼎石社区成员致以诚挚的感谢。请点击此处了解毕业典礼详情。 |

| Ice Hockey and Basketball 冰球篮球赛事速报 |

When you have a PE teacher from Finland and a PE teacher from Canada there is a good chance there is wealth of ice hockey experience in there somewhere! On May 19th, history was made as 7 primary school ice hockey athletes played their first hockey game in the local education authority sponsored ice hockey tournament for Chinese schools. Keystone’s ice men secured a first-round victory and will play again over the next 3 weekends. We are most grateful to Mr. Mustonen, Mr. Phil Farroll, and Ms. Rachel Ma from the KAP office for making this happen. In addition, Keystone’s basketball team comprised of Grade 2 and 3 students, qualified to represent the North Beijing area in the Beijing City wide school’s tournament. Another round of applause goes to Mr. Allen Chen for tirelessly bringing basketball to all areas of the school!
当学校同时拥有来自芬兰和加拿大的体育老师的时候，学生的冰球技术很可能就会迅速提高了。5月19日，7名小学部学生参加了由本地教育权威机构发起的中国学校冰球联赛，这也是他们第一次参加冰球比赛。他们获得了首轮比赛的胜利，将在接下来三个周末中继续参赛。非常感谢Aki老师、Farrol老师与KAP办公室马老师的组织。此外，鼎石2-3年级篮球队也获得了代表北京城北地区参加北京市学校联赛的资格。再次感谢陈佳瑜老师对我校篮球活动的贡献！ |

| United States Academic Pentathlon 全美学术五项赛事速报 |
| On May 19th, a team of nine students, including 4 Keystone students, won third place at the final round of the United States Academic Pentathlon (Literature, Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, and Math) in Omaha, US out of a total of 400 participants worldwide. Among them, Chenyu Charlie Li from 7N also won a silver medal in Social Sciences. Participants were selected from all over the US, and Chinese participants were selected from the first, preliminary round held in Guangzhou, China in February 2018, competing with over 90 teams.
5月19日，在美国奥马哈市举办的全美学术五项（文学、艺术、科学、社会科学和数学）的总决赛中，包括4名鼎石学生在内的一支9人参赛队获得了团体第三名的奖杯和铜牌，来自7N班的李晨與也在单项（社会科学）中获得银牌。此次总决赛参赛人数约400人，来自美国和中国。中国的选手曾在2月参加广州初赛，从90多支队伍中脱颖而出，最终参加此次总决赛。 |

| Student Band Performed at China’s Midi Festival! 学生乐团参加迷笛音乐节 |
| From April 29th to May 1st, the 39th Midi Festival, also known as China’s “Woodstock” festival, showcased a spectacular array of modern and rock music to a crowd of over 60,000 fans. Keystone student band “ECHO”, was chosen to perform among other acts, and enchanted the audience with a beautiful blend of classic rock and heavy metal tunes. Well done, students!

| Summer Programs at Keystone 鼎石暑期项目 |
| Keystone Academy is offering a diverse range of activities for students this summer, and we hope they appeal to you and your children. Our English Immersion Program includes 3 weeks of special content and activities specifically designed for students in primary school (current 3rd – 5th Grade), middle school (current 6th – 8th Grade) and high school (current 9th – 11th Grade). Our popular Marine Science STEAM Program is a 2-week course of study especially created for younger students (current 2nd – 4th Grade). All programs will feature current Keystone Academy teachers. Students currently enrolled at Keystone Academy are automatically admitted into our Summer Programs and will receive a 10% discount on program fees. | Keystone Annual Fair 鼎石嘉年华 |
| Join us on May 26 from 3-9PM for Keystone’s Annual Fair. During this day of fun for families there will be water games, slides, climbing walls, foam cannons and much more, with a specially designated area for toddlers. A variety of food and handcrafted goods will be on sale at the various stalls. There will also be numerous musical performances by student and faculty bands, with a special guest band appearance by “Solid Gold”. Roundabout Beijing will be in attendance providing designated drop-off points for clothes (gently used and clean only), books and toys. Ever wondered what human bowling is? Come and find out! Fun, music, food and family – the ideal combination for a beautiful sunny day in Beijing!

| PTA Annual Meeting PTA年度大会 |
| The fourth PTA elections are coming! This year’s PTA Annual General Meeting will take place on Monday, May 28th from 12:40-14:00 pm in the West Lecture Hall. Agenda items for this year’s general meeting are: a brief overview of the PTA’s work for the 2017-2018 academic year, how PTA funds will be dispersed, a blueprint of proposed renovations for the lecture halls, reflection speeches from PTA members, and candidate speeches. For upcoming elections, all candidates please be advised that only parents who are present at this year’s general meeting will be eligible to vote in this year’s elections. We sincerely welcome all parents to come and join in the PTA elections!

| Girl Scouts Father-Daughter Dance 女童子军活动：父女舞会 |
| Keystone’s Girl Scouts KAP is hosting a father-daughter dance on Sunday, June 3rd from 5:30-7:30pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. This event costs 80RMB per person, 160 RMB for both father and daughter, with a strict dress code of only formal attire. For girls in foundation year, 1st, and 2nd grades, this is a chance to bond with their fathers during this special time of childhood. This night to remember will be complete with food, drinks, performances, and fun activities for all guests. As space is limited, please sign up as soon as possible here.
