| This week, Keystone’s Experiential Learning Program organized trips for students in Grades 4 through 10. An important component of Keystone’s academic framework, the programs included service to local communities and field visits to various provinces across China, expanding the boundaries of learning beyond the classroom. | Roundabout Fundraiser Concert 众爱筹款音乐会 |
| The Keystone Choir performed at Dulwich College Beijing this past Saturday, May 5th. As part of Roundabout’s fundraising event, students participated in this wonderful initiative alongside their peers from the International School of Beijing, Dulwich College, and the Western Academy of Beijing. | Curriculum Curiosities- Music 音乐课程介绍 |
| On May 4th, a "Teacher Talks" on the subject of music was held in the high school library. Veteran teachers Joshua Smith and Kang Wande answered questions about the complexities and benefits of music education taught through Chinese and international methodologies. Panel moderators Lili Jia and Christine Matovich beautifully moderated the panel discussion, with dialogue exploring the what, how, and why of music education at Keystone.

| Hatchet, written by American author Gary Paulsen, is a story of survival, determination, and courage. Brian Robeson, the young protagonist in Hatchet, travels from New York to Canada for the summer to visit his father. When the pilot of the plane suffers from a heart attack mid-flight, Brian attempts to control the plane himself, and ends up crashing into a lake in the forest. With only a hatchet available to him, he must learn to survive on his own in the wilderness until he is rescued. | Summer Programs at Keystone Academy 鼎石暑期项目 |
| Keystone Academy is offering a diverse range of activities for students this summer, and we hope they appeal to you and your children. Our English Immersion Program includes 3 weeks of special content and activities specifically designed for students in primary school (current 3rd – 5th Grade), middle school (current 6th – 8th Grade) and high school (current 9th – 11th Grade). Our popular Marine Science STEAM Program is a 2-week course of study especially created for younger students (current 2nd – 4th Grade). All programs will feature current Keystone Academy teachers. Students currently enrolled at Keystone Academy are automatically admitted into our Summer Programs and will receive a 10% discount on program fees. | Several unidentified visitors have claimed that they are authorized by Keystone parents to pick up students. To minimize any possible security concerns, we would like to remind our parents not to lend their identification cards to others. Security will confiscate your parent card if it is found being used inappropriately. Also, please be reminded to always bring your parent identification card with you when entering the campus. There are approximately 40-50 parents per day who forget to bring their cards. Although security verifies the parents’ information through an online system, it is time-consuming and takes away from securing the campus. | A Message from the Health Center 来自健康中心的通知 |
| Happy Spring from the Keystone Health Center! With the weather becoming warmer, germs and bacteria have come back to life. Please help us to protect our community by keeping students who are ill at home. If the child shows any signs of illness (such as fever, diarrhea, vomiting, breathing trouble, rash), or is unable to participate in the normal routine and regular school day, he or she should recover at home. Sick children will expose all children with whom they come in contact with, so they should only return to school after full recovery. This is particularly important in the residential community. We urge parents who live locally to keep ill students at home rather than have them return to the dorm. Your cooperation on this issue is extremely important and appreciated. 鼎石健康中心向大家致以春季的问候！随着天气逐渐变暖，一些细菌也活跃起来。为保证鼎石社区的健康安全，请家长将生病的孩子留在家中进行照顾。如果孩子表现出任何不适症状（如发烧、腹泻、呕吐、呼吸困难、起皮疹），或无法参加上课日的常规活动，他/她应该在家中休养直至康复，以避免将疾病传播给更多的同学。这一点对鼎石这样的寄宿环境尤为重要。我们请求家住北京本地的家长尽可能在家中照顾生病的孩子，直至其康复再将其送回宿舍。非常感谢大家的配合！ |
