Hengli Heavy Industry (恒力重工) – Factory Tour
Participants will tour the facilities of Hengli Heavy Industry, a leader in China's shipbuilding sector and one of the few privately owned shipbuilding yards in the country. Headquartered in the Changxing Island Economic Zone of Dalian, Hengli Heavy Industry is a subsidiary of Hengli Group, which originated in the textile and petrochemical sectors before strategically expanding into shipbuilding. The company was established in July 2022, when Hengli Group acquired the assets of the former STX (Dalian) shipyard, a facility that had been idle for nearly a decade—and moved with remarkable speed to revive the site. The visit will provide you with a unique perspective on large-scale shipbuilding operations and the strategic role of private enterprises in China's maritime industry. Don't miss it!
Optional Extension: SHIPTEC Dalian
Attendees may also combine the factory visit with a trip to SHIPTEC Dalian, the largest ship and marine equipment exhibition in northern China. Held every second year, SHIPTEC brings together leading domestic and international exhibitors across the maritime value chain. This year, for the first time, VDMA China will organize a German Pavilion at SHIPTEC Dalian. Nine companies have registered to exhibit. Come visit us!

Shiptec China 2026
The 17th International Shipbuilding, Marine Equipment and Offshore Engineering Exhibition (大连国际海事展览会) for China will be held from October 28th to 30th, 2026 at the Dalian World Expo Center. Established in 1992, this event has become the most influential international maritime exhibition in Northeast Asia after more than 30 years of innovative development, providing a bridge and bond for all-round and multi-level communication and cooperation in the international maritime industry. There are over 150 shipyards in northern China, including large shipbuilding enterprises such as Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. (DSIC), with enormous market development potential.
