[Event] Full Day Visit to Changshu CEDZ, Novartis, EFTEC and Hörmann

SwissCham Shanghai is delighted to invite you to visit Changshu. The National-level Changshu Economic & Technological Development Zone (Changshu ETDZ) is located in the Suzhou district, which is the core area of Yangtze River Delta and 90 km from Shanghai. It was established in 1992, covering an area of 70 km2. Changshu ETDZ has ranked in the top 5 in "Best National-level ETDZ" in Jiangsu Province. More than 600 FIEs have settled down in the zone, including 58 projects invested by 29 Global Fortune 500 companies. Featuring with distinct location, robust infrastructure, perfect supply chain, available resources, rich labor pool and one-stop service from the local government, Changshu ETDZ can offer flexible solution for your investment in China.

Transportation:

Train tickets between Shanghai and Changshu shall be purchased by the guest. Shuttle bus transportation in town is provided by Changshu ETDZ.

EFTEC (Changshu) belongs to Swiss EMS group. EMS Group, which was founded in 1936, is active worldwide in the business areas of High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals. EMS has 26 production sites in 16 different countries, 6 of those sites are based in China.

EFTEC (Changshu), which was founded in 2nd Feb, 2016, located at No.88 Wanfu road CEDZ, has 120 employees, covers an area of 30,000 square meters. EFTEC (Changshu) mainly engaged in the research, production and sales of high performance automotive adhesives, sealants and coatings. The total investment is about 30 million Swiss francs and a registered capital of 12 million Swiss francs. We focus on providing customers with the "one-stop" solution. Our estimated annual production quantity is 66,000 ton high-performance coatings and 3,900 ton adhesive. It will be the largest plant in the world for bonding, coating, sealing and damping materials.

Novartis, a multinational company in the global medical and health industry, is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. In Sept. 2019, Novartis decided to set up the new company Suzhou Novartis Technology Development Co., Ltd.' owing to business needs. This is a R&D company and engages in the field of pharmaceutical technology research and development (including new oncology drugs, new cardiovascular and vascular drugs and new nervous system drugs, etc.), technical services, technology transfer, technical consultant, etc. The total investment is 36 MUSD with 12 MUSD registered capital.

Hörmann group is the largest supplier of doors in Europe. Since its establishment in 1935, Hörmann has manufactured and delivered more than 20 million doors worldwide. Over 6,000 employees at 36 professional factories in Europe, North America and Asia have been devoting themselves to developing and manufacturing good-quality doors, hinged doors, door frames and operators used for private and commercial properties. The globally active Hörmann is headquartered in Steinhagen, Germany. The most recent annual revenue of this family-owned company has exceeded 1 billion Euro. Hörmann conducts business out of more than 100 sales offices in over 40 countries and has sales partners in a further 50+ countries/regions. Since entering China in 1998, it has been in Beijing, Tianjin, Hörmann Group has 18 sales branches, 74 distributor partners in China, and 3 production plants respectively located in Beijing, Tianjin and Changshu. At present, there are 650 employees in China. The service network pervades throughout the whole country and all of them can provide our clients with a series of after-sales services including inspection, maintenance and repair.

Hörmann (Changshu) Door Production Co., LTD. was established in August 2017, covering an area of 40,158 sq.m. and was put into use in early 2019. The production capacity is 120,000 units/year, registered capital of 17.5 million euros, total investment of more than 500 million yuan in 2018, nearly 20 door types.
