As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program, DaWo Law Firm Shanghai and DaWo Academy are launching the first Legal Summer Camp for students aged 17 to 19.
The camp comprises a 5-day training course aimed at providing students with a first-hand experience about the essentials of the legal profession and a view in the inner workings of a law firm. Students will learn the basic principles of law in various fields and gain an understanding about how law affects business but also daily live.
Date and Venue
The Legal Summer Camp will take place from Monday July 12 to Friday July 16 2021 at DaWo offices in downtown Shanghai (Crystal Century Plaza, Weihai Rd 567, 20/F, Jingan District).
Fees
Participation is free of charge and lunches, drinks and snacks will be offered.
Program Overview
The Legal Summer Camp will combine presentations by DaWo partners and lawyers each about their specific field of legal expertise and group exercises based on real-live cases.
Lunches will be spent at our offices, meeting and exchanging with our partners, associates, and staff. This will be your chance to ask all the questions you have about law, law studies, lawyers, law firms, etc... to professional lawyers from Europe, US and China.
On the last day of camp, a moot-court hearing will be held during which the students will each take a side in a mock lawsuit and present their arguments in defense of their "client's" interests. Each side will be coached throughout the week in preparation of the moot court hearing by a junior lawyer of the firm.

Conditions and Application
Applicants shall be aged 17 to 19 and residing in Shanghai and must have a keen interest in law or in pursuing law studies. Good communication skills, both written and spoken in English is indispensable. We are looking for smart, open-minded, well organized students who are able to work both autonomously and within a group and, most impotantly, with a positive attitude.

The participants are expected to be present for the full 5 day program and to adopt an attitude generally compatible with the professional working environment in which the summer camp will take place.
The participants will be required to sign a statement of acknowledgment about the conditions of participation, including a confidentiality engagement and a disclaimer upon confirmation of attendance.
