Brooke Hartigan is the Minister-Counsellor for Beijing, representing Australia's education, training and research relationship with China.

Brooke has worked in a number of Australian Government departments predominantly focusing on social policy and criminal justice. Prior to joining the Department of Education and Training, Brooke led the Branch in the Department of Social Services responsible for establishing the National Redress Scheme for survivors of institutional child sexual abuse. She has also led efforts on children's policy and criminal law reform. Brooke has previously lived and worked in the United Kingdom, and studied in Beijing.

Rhett Miller is the Consul (Commercial) and Trade Commissioner (Education) (North Asia) at the Australian Consulate-General in Shanghai. In this capacity, Rhett is responsible for the overall leadership and direction in promoting Australian international education in Greater China, the Republic of Korea and Mongolia.

Rhett has extensive experience in the international education sector having served as Head of Asian Markets at the University of Sydney where he managed a large team responsible for marketing, recruitment and business development across the Region. In this role, Rhett pioneered a range of new initiatives which substantially grew the international cohort at the University. He has also held international marketing and business development roles at both the University of Melbourne and Victoria University.

Prior to his career in international education, Rhett was a solicitor working at the major Australian firm Allens, and was admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Rhett holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Modern Languages (Chinese) from the University of Melbourne.

Dr Amanda Barry is the founding Director of the Australian National University's China Liaison Office and is responsible for deepening and strengthening the university's China engagement across multiple research partnerships as well as through student pathways, alumni relations and industry engagement. Amanda is also actively developing student, alumni and careers services in China for current ANU students and graduates. Beijing-based since 2005, Amanda has worked in higher education, cultural diplomacy, business consulting and the arts including at the Australian Embassy, Peking University, the Foundation for Australian Studies in China and The Beijing Center. Amanda also chairs the AustCham Education Industry Forum.
