Info for New Members - About VDMA CEO Breakfast

The CEO Breakfast series is aiming for Top Executives from VDMA members in China to inform them about current lead topics that affect their businesses.

In cooperation with selected industrial and business experts the target is to provide a CEO Breakfast series to VDMA members who are having concerns and need strategic guidance for their operations in China. During the breakfast time you will have this unique opportunity to exchange ideas with your peers and learn from the experts and from each other.

This year our IP topic will be in cooperation with Clyde&Co.



Objective:


The development of innovation and digital transformation have been accelerated due to the COVID-19 Crisis. How has the IP environment changed? Has the IP environment transformed sufficiently quickly to deal with the new challenges? What can and what should VDMA members do to protect their IP during and after this transformation given that much of industry and trade is encouraged or forced to go digital?

d. as a result to a movement towards "Digital Value-Added"?

5. How should the Manufacturing Sector adapt to these IP challenges?

6. Future-scope: Where will these Challenges lead and how could IP determine the winners and losers?

Elliot has practised intellectual property (IP) law on several Continents since 1995 โ€“ first in Australia, then Europe, and since 2005 in China. From Clyde & Co's China offices Elliot now advises international clients on contentious and non-contentious IP matters, with a focus on strategic protection, exploitation, and enforcement of intellectual property, and especially patents, trade marks, copyright as well as trade secrets. He advises on strategies for optimizing IP portfolios across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as cross-border patent, trade mark and copyright disputes. Elliot represents a number of Fortune 500 companies and other MNCs on China IP litigation and especially Patent litigation. His client briefs include developing IP strategies for one of Europe's largest VC funds, for global automotive technology companies, global engineering and manufacturing conglomerates, as well as some of Europe's best-known FCMG and jewellery brands.
