In a World Cup year for soccer and with the Women's Asian Cup coming up in Australia in March, this will be a huge twelve months for footy connections between China and Australia and there are many events planned. However, this will be the big one to kick things off!
The China–Australia Chamber of Commerce (AustCham China) is pleased to welcome Grace Gill to the Chinese capital for a special dinner with the support of the Australian Embassy in China.
Grace has lived football, from the intensity as an Australian international player performing on the global stage to the thrill of becoming a national sports broadcaster interpreting the game for millions.
In her keynote address, Grace will share reflections on:
· her playing career and life on the pitch
· her personal transition from athlete to journalist
· leadership, visibility and trust in public roles
· the future of football in China and Australia
Then BBC China Correspondent Stephen McDonell will lead a conversation (firing in some of his own questions) but come along armed with your own questions too as this will be an engaging, wide-ranging, open, fun, discussion with input from those at the dinner.
This is an evening about people, leadership and connection — with footy as the starting point.
