Dear VDMA member,

We are excited to announce the VDMA China - Online Event Series on Green Energy Transition in China and with great pleasure we invite you to our first Session: China's First Energy Law โ€“ A Game Changer? scheduled on Mar 4, 2025.

China is on the brink of a major transformation in its energy sector with the introduction of its first-ever comprehensive Energy Law. Approved by the National People's Congress in November 2024, the law officially took effect on January 1, 2025. This landmark legislation is a crucial step toward achieving China's ambitious climate goalsโ€”peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and reaching carbon neutrality by 2060. It serves as the foundation for China's energy transition, supported by key sectoral laws, including the Electricity Law, Coal Law, Renewable Energy Law, and Energy Conservation Law, alongside a suite of administrative regulations. It contains a multitude of obligations and tasks addressed to both the central and local governments. But what does this sweeping reform mean for energy producers, consumers - especially companies -, and the energy market in general?

Together with Rรถdl & Partner we want to explore the implications, challenges, and opportunities this law presents for the mechanical engineering industry.

Speaker: Ralph Koppitz, Attorney-At-Law / Partner, Rรถdl & Partner
