IoT and big data are mentioned everywhere these days, sometimes with purpose, sometimes just as a buzzword. Not many technology conversations, or linked-in articles can refrain from IoT-ing their way into a blockchain future.

The German Chamber of Commerce in China, Shanghai and the Wuxi International Chamber jointly organizes the Wuxi Interchamber Networking Dinner for the first time. We warmly welcome you to join us for a networking dinner enriched by Howard WANG, chief information officer of ADEN Group and Mikael Jakobsson, Project Managment Director of Aden Group: How SMART is smart?

We want obviously to join the club too, but bringing a word of warning that we do not set too high expectations on the shoulder of IoT and big data, as they would not solve our problems on our behalf, and if we do not do our share of preparation, disappointment is bound to follow. They will provide invaluable insight and possibility of innovation, as they may underpin, but not substitute human decision making.

During their speech, Howard and Mikael will cover the following subjects in more detail:

  • What we should expect and strive for, with IoT and big-data for facility management
  • An understanding of what is situational awareness in the environment and conscious building, what measures contribute to drive an organization forward and what gets it derailed on the way.
  • How to build on situation awareness - IoT delivers the flexibility to deal with a changing environment
  • How a System-human interface should look like to retain a key role in the definition of objectives and decision making
  • How optimization practices in the internet are growingly influencing the connected and data-driven building management
