Overview
This year, the China Industry Internship Program (CIIP) will be delivered in 4 cities in China including Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou (Suzhou Industrial Park) and Nanjing in partnership with the stakeholders of the University of Sydney Center in China including AustCham, SIPHRD, JITRI, CPA Australia etc., which will provide students an valuable and unique experiences of living and working in major cities in China during summer vacation period from 1st December 2020 to 26th February 2021.
The program aims at Chinese national this year due to international travel restrictions. During the program period, students will have access to high quality internships, exposing themselves with the China business landscape and gaining hands-on experiences and work-ready skills, and building peer and professional networks in central business areas in China.
The program also offers opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students to develop professional networks through networking activities and events organized by the University of Sydney Centre in China enabling students to access comprehensive academic, professional and cultural experience to position them well for a global career.

The program consists of approximately 8 hours (1-day) induction classes and then 13 weeks in- country internship hosted by industry partners in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Suzhou.Students are requested to attend the induction session and complete a self-assessment report at the end of the internship.

Eligibility
The program is open to Chinese nationals only this year. Students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/postgraduate program at the University of Sydney. Non award programs do not qualify.
Students should be 2nd year undergraduate or above and must have completed a minimum of 48 credit points by the end of Semester 2 2020. Students must have an overall Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 or greater.
Applicants are expected to be an outstanding ambassador for the University, Evidence of this will be demonstrated through academic and personal achievements.
Please note, students can be admitted by CIIP only for one time during your study at the University.
Host Companies and Intern positions
A list of Internship positions in 4 cities is provided for students to choose from. Host companies includes BOE, Denso, CPA Australia, Grant Thornton, BBG, iFLYTEK, Tus-Design, Tongcheng, Robert Walters, Hays, JITRI Research Institutes etc.
Students could choose 3 intern positions as their first choice, second choice and third choice across cities. Students shall also tell whether they would agree on position adjustment in case that none of 3 choices work out after interview.

Travel Insurance:
It is advised students take out travel insurance for the duration of the internship Students are not covered by the University of Sydney insurance.
Internship stipend
Interns will receive a stipend of between RMB 2000 - RMB4000 per month.
Financial support
Financial support will be granted to students who is admitted by this program on selected basis arranged by the University of Sydney Centre in China. Eligible students will be considered for this financial support. A separate application is not required.
