D.M Alkali is a Graduate of Geology from the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria. He is a Deputy Superintendent of Immigration. He joined the Nigeria Immigration Service in 2010 and has worked in ECOWAS section, Provost section, Passport section, Migration Unit and is now the Immigration Attaché II at the Embassy of Nigeria, Beijing, China, deputizing Mr. Babansoro.
Alkali has attended several courses and professional trainings within and outside Nigeria, some of which are: Diploma in Document Forgery Detection by the Spanish Police, Training on Advanced Skills for Detection of Falsified Documents by the Netherlands Police, Training on Immigration Intelligence by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Cross Border Financial Investigation by the United States Department of Homeland Security, Trainings on Immigration Irregular Migration and Migrants Screening by IOM. Others are capacity building workshops by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX).
He has served in various committees such as the National Migration Data Management Strategy, Immigration Manual Drafting Committee, Nigeria-Cameroon Transborder Security Committee, Immigration Regulations Review Committee, Immigration Training Manual Review Committee, National Tourism Masterplan Development Committee and the Technical Committee of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Committee, among others.
Alkali is a recipient of awards such as Certificates of Honour, Appreciation, Responsibility and Academic Excellence from Airforce Military School, Jos and the University of Maiduguri; Merit Awards as best in Academics and for outstanding performance as Labour Provost at the Immigration Training School, Kano during the 39th Superintendent Basic Course. Others are Humanistic Service Award by International Students Union of Shenyang Medical College and Foreign Mission Personality Award by Association of Nigerian Registered Company Owners in China.
