Introduction

Roughly 1 out of every 3 websites is a WordPress site.

This webinar is an interactive one that will teach you how to jump right into the most popular content-management system for creating and maintaining websites and blogs.

We'll begin with a brief overview of the components to having a website and how to install WordPress and get started. Then we'll focus most of our time on how to dress it up (appearances and themes; menus, sidebars, and footers; plug-ins and widgets) and get right to work (posts and pages, and categories or tags).

You'll also learn about the new development hub for the WordPress editor, Gutenberg. The entire course is search-engine optimization (SEO) focused and you will learn basic tips and tricks to help improve your sites SERP.

Addressing security concerns, we'll discuss passwords, user management, and updates (themes, plug-ins, and core). Before the daylong session ends, we'll troubleshoot common problems (We call this the "OMG. Why Doesn't It Work" segment) and leave time for hands on work on your own site or our test site.
