Only Have 5 Minutes?: That's Enough for Self Care!
A Beijing Women’s Network Health Living Series Event
Home
We live in a world that glorifies the word “busy”. Saying “I don’t have time” is somehow synonymous with being a dedicated, hard worker. Not to mention, the more advanced tech becomes, the more tethered we are to our devices. But what impact does all of this being “busy” have on our health? Is it possible to still prioritize our health in such an environment. We think the answer is yes. Much as we might like to devote two hours to a gym and wellness routine, there are some days where that’s just not possible. But there are still easy, accessible ways to prioritize our health.
This event will explore ways to practice self-care when time is limited. We will cover:
· Basic movements to do to reinforce core stability, posture, etc. when at the office or in a cramped airplane seat (Don’t worry, we are not going to ask anyone to sit at their desks with their leg wrapped behind their head. We’re prioritizing practical, sensible moves) · Breathing exercises to manage moments where we feel overwhelmed · How to get our heart rates up in an apartment with limited space (without needing a home gym or disturbing the neighbors!)
We’re lucky to have two health and wellness gurus who are experienced at prioritizing self-care with limited time as our presenters for this event. Each of them will give a brief talk followed by an introduction to their exercise and then we’ll have an opportunity to try it out. (Note: Don’t worry – we won’t plan to break a sweat at the event, so feel free to come straight from work without changing into workout clothes).
Event format: · 7:00-7:30 pm: Networking · 7:30-8:30 pm: Presentations and Demonstrations · 8:30-9 pm: Open Q&A
We hope to see you there!
