Are there distinct differences between Chinese and European business cultures and leadership styles? What are the commonly observed strengths and weaknesses of leaders in China? Which skill sets could Chinese professionals learn and develop in order to reach the next rung on their career ladder?

The German Chamber of Commerce invites you to a human resources workshop in which these questions will be discussed by three keynote speakers: Ms. Eveline Goodman (PhD. Psychologist &PhD.Neuroscience), Mr. Min Hao and Ms. Josie Liu. Eveline Goodman works with business professionals to develop their leadership skills. Mr. Min Hao from EDAG and Ms. Josie Liu from SCHINDLER will share their personal experiences of developing and applying a plan to learn new skills to improve their management potential. They will share how they progressed their management styles and changed their leadership approaches, in turn transforming their way of thinking and how they approach new challenges.

The basis for the discussion are two statements:
  1. Young Chinese talents aged between 20 and 30 are more skilled than their European or expat counterparts.
  2. The missing skill sets from the two corporate cultures are different: expat professionals lack patience and therefore longevity; Chinese professionals have this quality, but tend not to see opportunities and proactively take the chances that are offered to them.

The target group for this workshop are professionals from all branches of industry who are leading teams, or are about to assume a team leadership role and want to learn how to bolster performance. The workshop will be particularly targeted at mid-level management and young professionals.
